Wednesday 19th May
As from 17th May, adult indoor skateboarding is allowed but the 'Rule of 6' still applies, and you must only skate or socialise with people in your 'bubble'. Mount Hawke will be reopening on Saturday 29th May, with the booking system live from Friday 21st May. Please note that no bags are allowed in social areas (there are now storage cube units in the park for you to store your belongings while you ride). One parent/guardian admitted per child during U11 sessions. Participants only during 11+ sessions (no spectators admitted). Adults must wear a face mask in the reception and cafe area (until seated). The cafe will be running a table service system with a limited menu. Refreshments brought from home must be consumed outside.
Thursday 31st Dec
Following the annoucement yesterday a decision has been taken that Mount Hawke closes for a minimum of 2 weeks until the next review date on or around the 13th Jan. This isn't a decision thats been taken lightly and despite being in Tier 3 where we are allowed to stay open, the constraints for the short term are far too restrictive to manage a facility safely and without potential negative comeback. If we continue to stay in Tier 3 at the next review date, options are being discussed for a staggered re-opening starting with under 11s, under 18s and private hire. Your continued support is hugely appreciated and we hope to be back to normal very soon in 2021.
Tuesday 24th
The PM announced that gyms and grassroots sports can open up again so we will be doing just that Thursday 3rd Dec. The booking system will continue to be in place along with social distancing guidelines . Please also look at our events page for Xmas Skate, BMX, Girls & Scooter Jams.
Looking forward to opening the doors to everyone again
Saturday 31st Oct

Any pre-paid bookings made for during this period will be refunded onto the payment card used to process the booking. Monies will re-appear in your account no later than Wednesday 18th Nov. Unfortunately we are unable to swap sessions or hold as credit.
During this time or until further information has been given , no future bookings will be available.
Up-dates will appear on here and social media - stay safe
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the way we operate at the skatepark has had to change.
Bear with us, we’re hoping this won’t go on for long, we will be reviewing our new systems at the end of the summer holidays, but this is what to expect when you visit for the moment:
UPDATE ON NEW REGULATIONS 10/09/2020 - As a covid secure venue under the leisure centre category with strict hygiene and social distancing systems in place we are allowed to continue operating as normal .However from Monday 14th September the new regulations state you must not gather in groups of more than 6 while socialising. Do not turn up in groups over 6 , Gather or socialise in groups of more than 6 (this includes outside of the skatepark , inside of the skatepark , cafe and lounge area and on the decks of the ramps ,bowls and street area . This applies to riders , parents/families and spectators .
To ride at the park, you now have to book and pay for a session online, using our website booking system. This is to ensure that we have a limited number of people in the park at any one time and we can stick to social distancing rules. Please book carefully as bookings cannot be altered or cancelled, and no refunds will be given.
Membership holders should book as normal using the online portal system. Unfortunately, at this time Annual Memberships are no longer being offered. Any current members will be given free entry vouchers up to the value of what remains of your subscription; please enquire at the park.
When you arrive at the park for your session, there will be a queueing system in place to keep everyone safe. Please look out for this when you get here. Limited spectators will ONLY be allowed entrance to the park if they adhere to guidelines and social distancing requests.
Unfortunately we are unable to hire scooters, or lend safety equipment (helmets and pads etc) : please make sure that you bring your own.
The café will still be open but the layout of the lounge has changed to allow for social distancing. We would prefer you to use contactless payment for café purchases but we will still accept cash when necessary.
Under 11s Sessions - parents/guardians are still required to supervise their children during the sessions but we ask that you adhere to one adult per child, to keep numbers down. Parents spectating still get free entry. Due to the booking system, the Loyalty Card scheme has been suspended until further notice.
Over 11 parents are asked if appropriate to drop off and pick up to limit site on-site numbers . The café area is available but again limited numbers and spaces will dictate if there is space for seating and will be given on 'first come, first served' basis . As always, you must be registered to ride at the park; the online registration form can be found on the home page of our website.
We’ll be providing hand gel and sanitising stations in different areas of the park, and making sure that everything is kept extra clean. In the case of any injuries, our staff will use PPE equipment when administering first aid.
Skateboard England have published guidelines to help skateparks open safely during this difficult time. Here’s a link to the information:

It is important to remind everyone that if you are unwell, and/or are presenting symptoms of COVID-19 please DO NOT come to the skatepark. We reserve the right to take temperatures of any attendees, and also refuse entry for medical grounds if we deem it necessary.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
